My name is Victoria Kurchatova, I live in Cabarete, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic and have more than 5 years of experience working in the hotel and property sectors on the island. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, Russian and of course… Real Estate 🙂
I graduated from Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management in Russia and later worked as a financial analyst at Sberbank (the largest bank in Russia). After 6 years in the corporate world, I decided that the office life wasn’t for me, and I made the decision to start a new (and warmer!) chapter of my life. I eventually arrived on the sunny shores of the Dominican Republic in 2017 and instantly fell in love with the island.
My first role was at Deluxe Ocean Village, a hotel complex which was at the time 85% complete (major work was finished, but interior and exterior work was still in progress). I was tasked with helping complete the project and assist with the launch of the hotel. My immediate supervisor was the General Manager and my key roles included: organization of the cleaning and reception departments (scheduling, hiring employees, drawing up instructions, conducting training for employees, etc.); Quality control of the cleaning and reception departments; Operation of the project (procurement, planning, etc.); and performing tasks of the manager.
After the successful launch of the project, I was invited to work at Tropical Casa Laguna, as well as to take part in the opening of the hotel complex. At that time, the project was 65% complete. The owner of this complex was my immediate supervisor. In addition to the above responsibilities, I was also involved in organizing the work of the security department, gardeners and the rental department of apartments which were located on the property. It is important to note that when we talk about a new project, the list of responsibilities includes everything that is necessary for the project to launch, including ordering furniture, working with designers, organizing work with suppliers, etc.
After the completion of the hotel and its successful launch, I returned to Russia, but soon decided to continue exploring the world and advance my new career in the tourism and hotel industry. I was offered a fixed-term contract with Biblio Globus (a major international tour operator) and I relocated to the island of Rhodes in Greece. My main responsibility was organizing the vacations of Russian tourists on the island (arrival / departure of guests, organizing excursions, etc.). Tourists stayed in hotels all over the island and I had the opportunity to get to know hotels of all sizes.
However, the Dominican Republic was always on my mind. The culture, the nature, weather, and the people – I knew this is where I wanted to live. I decided to return, set up my own real estate agency and begin my next adventure.

Additionally, due to my education and career in finance, combined with my years of experience on the island, I also offer real estate investment advice for those looking to purchase on the north coast.
